Jacket #4 in striped black Serbian tweed

I had a friend who told fortunes by jackets. He would take a man's jacket, turn it inside out, and pull out a thread. He would study the thread for a long time, then burn it in a candle flame and say, such and such will happen to you. And it always came true. Once he pulled a black thread from my jacket and said, you will have a long journey, but it will take you where you need to go. Just give me the jacket. I gave him the jacket and never saw him again. I left soon after.
