Ragnar's spoon

Ragnar’s spoon was kept wrapped in cloth. No one touched it with bare hands. When a guest arrived, it was given to him. If it grew warm, he was who he seemed. Once Ragnar himself came and took the spoon, and it stayed cold. After that, no one questioned him again.
