Our grandfather used to tell how, when he was young, he went to a flea market to buy various tools for the household. He came to a man who sold tools - old ones, new ones, and stolen ones. The man always looked sly and bargained like a devil. But when he saw our grandfather, he suddenly became serious and very calm. You need another kind of tool, he said, and took a frula out of his trouser pocket. Here, he said, play it, only not at a wedding. Better still, do not go to the wedding at all. Stay home. Our grandfather's brother was to be married the next day. So grandfather took the seller's advice and did not go to the wedding. At the wedding, the father of the bride got drunk and began attacking the guests with a knife. He might have stabbed our grandfather too. But grandfather was at home, playing the frula.
