Vest #1 in charcoal black herringbone Serbian tweed

Ten years ago there was a fellow at our market. He always came on Thursdays and stayed exactly until noon. He would spread out a mat, and instead of goods there would be all sorts of nonsense on it - a twig, a shell, a stone, a cowbell. Once I came up to him for a laugh and asked how much the goods were. He said, take something, but only one thing. I took a stone. He said, you chose well, that is right, you have one stone, and there will be no second. I did not understand then. Six months later I was walking along a mountain path when suddenly a stone fell from above, right in front of me. I clutched my heart and felt in the pocket of my vest for that little stone from the market. My stone. So the one that fell was not mine. There it was. I never saw that fellow again.
