Century-old Serbian knitted mittens

A black sheep strayed from the herd and ran up the mountain. She wandered through the mountain forests for a week, listened to magpies' gossip, learned owls' secrets, chewed dead grass, drank from a living stream. Three blind old women spun yarn from the wool of that sheep for three nights and rinsed it in a dry well. A girl knitted mittens from yarn and put them in a chest for a hundred years.
