Weaver's evening coat in antique black wild silk

Didn’t spin from wool, didn’t sew with a needle. Gave it to the wind to wear for half a year. The wind brought it back with pockets full of smoke. Washed it in the oven, dried it in the river. Wear it on Thursdays, but not in April.

This coat is cut using early XX century traditional peasant coat patterns and sewn involving a great deal of handwork including hand sewn buttonholes & pick stitches.  Antique Indian iridescent black wild silk. Ivory while washed cotton fabric. Old corozo, mother-of-pearl & walrus bone buttons. Sorcery.
