In one village, the people quarreled with the wind. When the wind blew too hard, they poked at it with pitchforks and rakes to drive it away. One day, the wind got offended and stopped coming to the village. For thirty days and nights, there was no wind. Spiders wove webs up to the sky, it got very dark, and the crops didn’t grow. The people got scared and sent the bravest, handsomest young man to beg the wind for forgiveness. He climbed the mountain, waited for the wind to rise, and threw his hat into the air. The wind took the hat, flew back to the village, and blew the webs away. After that, the people never quarreled with the wind again.
