Go up the mountain, along the boar's path, along the wolf's tracks. The mountain is high, the road is long. A tree grows at the top of the mountain. On the western side the branches are dead, on the eastern side they are alive. Break off a branch from a tree, bathe it in river water, and dry it with the north wind. Tie ribbons on it and decorate it with pearls. You will have a staff to walk along the edge.
